What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer feel overwhelming or “present.”

Instead of talking about the same issue repeatedly, EMDR works directly with how memories are stored in the nervous system.

It’s commonly used for:

  • Trauma (recent or childhood)

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Relationship wounds

  • Shame, self-worth, and identity struggles

  • Intrusive thoughts or emotional reactivity

How EMDR Works
